DETAILED COURSE OUTLINE

UX Theory and Process
The most successful companies in the world have one thing in common; they are design-led, and for good reason. In this course you’ll get expert training in fundamental UX theory – and how to apply it in your e-commerce strategy. The rich syllabus dives into the established design-thinking process, with hands-on experience using iterative design cycles, prototyping and user testing. Discover how this UX framework can be applied to optimising your e-commerce services to drive conversions and build customer loyalty.

UX Research
Gain knowledge and practical experience using a suite of robust research methods and tools that will give you valuable insights into your customers’ experiences with your brand and e-commerce platform. Learn the best ways to uncover the needs, motivations and expectations of your customers, test and refine your navigation and site structure, and how to continually learn more about your e-commerce website or app’s actual performance when put to the test in front of users.

Synthesis
Research and data in isolation cannot inform considered design decisions. Fathom will guide you through some of the tools and techniques used by UX experts to effectively analyse, synthesise and prioritise research data into useful and useable artefacts, all of which can be used to inform the design of your customers’ e-commerce journeys.

Interface Design
Where the rubber hits the road! You will learn how to effectively translate UX research into user-centred design solutions, mapping out a delightful and profitable end-to-end customer journey on your e-commerce platform. Fathom will take you through the importance of breaking down the e-commerce design process into flow and interaction design, thinking ‘beyond-the-page’ and going deeper into what triggers, controls and actions can do to influence user behaviour – ultimately, design decisions that will make or break the success of your e-commerce website or app.
